Tree's Plants - Family Footprint

Summary.

The calculator Tree's Plants - Family Footprint has the objective to show how as a family can mitigate or compensate their carbon footprint by planting trees and plants or investing in reforestation projects.

At the moment the world's leaders in GHG are investigating what solutions could catch greenhouse gases from the atmosphere, but the most real and that we have today in hand, is reforestation.

Which is the reason why we have the need to mitigate the concentration of greenhouse gases that we generate to the atmosphere, when using energy?

First.
The carbon footprint is the total amount of CO2 that is generated daily by our actions in our homes, businesses, neighborhood or workgroups. It is equivalent to the amount of polluting gases that are released in combustion processes (these gases are known as Greenhouse Gases), where the highest percent is CO2 gas or Dioxide de Carbon. The combustion is a chemical process that is present in almost all energy systems that we use every day. Examples of systems are the transportations (by air, land, sea) where different kinds of fuel oil are burned. The use of electricity from Thermoelectric Plants, that burn fossil fuels (Natural Gas, Diesel, Fuel Oil) throws the most percent of Greenhouse Gas to atmosphere. We consume electricity for lighting, air conditioning, refrigerating and preserving food, in the electric motors and others services. The use of water which requires compression systems; and in each food, good, service that we can use every day.

Second. These gases that are generated when we use energy in the family live and industrial have properties that make them very dangerous when they accumulate in the atmosphere. One of the most dangerous behaviors that many of these gases have is high absorption of the radiation infrared or the long way that is reflected for the earth. This is a simple balance sheet. If the energy input into the atmosphere is greater than the output, the atmosphere overheats and in turn emits infrared rays again on the earth, overheating it as well. The gases that have great infrared absorbing power as Dioxide de Carbon and Steam or Water Vapor. The ability to absorb infrared radiation causes the CO2 layer of the atmosphere to refract the higher-wave infrared rays on the earth. These infrared rays increase the temperature of the planet causing the global warming.

Finally. If the growth of these gases in the atmosphere is not slowed down, the temperature will rise gradually, increasing the natural disasters that have been evident for a long time. You, me, we are all getting know it daily and we are becoming aware of this serious problem that is accumulating over time, but when it is challenged it will affect us all.

Author: René F. Ruano has more than 40 years of experience in engineering field, in control, assembly and repairs energy systems and equipment, that use fossil energy and renewable sources. He started as a Plant Operator in Fuel Oil and Naphtha Conversion and Refining Plants and a few years later, he reached the position of Technical Manager´s Plant. After, he was the Founder and Technical Manager of Energy Engineering Teams, worked in Project, Assembly and Technical Services in Heat and Cool Systems, covering the generation, distribution, use and control of Steam, Hot Water, Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Renewable Systems. Now, with his personal support, he is carrying out the General Energetic Engineering project where he publishes, free online , his knowledge and experiences applied to computer systems that report the CO2 emissions generated when energy is consumed. He has the hope, what the interested people and parties can access, learn , understand and participate for reducing and mitigating the CO2 emissions that are the first cause of the Climate Change.
